Kids Developmental Services (KDS) is a community-based private Early Childhood Services operator funded by Alberta Education. We provide early childhood intervention to children between the ages of 2 years 8 months and 5 years. Programming is developmentally appropriate and occurs in the child's natural environment. Alberta Certificated Teachers coordinate the child's team which may include a Developmental Assistant, Speech-Language Pathologist, Speech-Language Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Psychology Support Specialist and/or a Family Connection Coordinator.
Certificated Teachers write the child's Individualized Program Plan (IPP) and accommodations and strategies are provided by the therapists on the child's team. Additional programming is offered in the child's home as well as in the community.
We are seeking a full time Occupational Therapist, however would consider part time candidates 0.6 FTE or higher as well for an employee position.
Responsibilities Include
Working within a multidisciplinary team, that includes the child's family and early childhood educators;
Screening and assessing preschool-aged children with diverse learning needs;
Collaborating with the child's team to develop their Individualized Program Plan (IPP);
Working collaboratively within community preschools, child care centres and Kids PlayTime sessions that take place in the child's community;
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently;
Providing ongoing training, coaching, and support to parents, early childhood educators, and KDS staff;
Provide regular updates and notes on the child's support and progress;
Excellent communication skills;
Confidence using Google Workspace;
A reliable vehicle.

KDS Requires
Candidates that have experience with and a passion for working with preschool-aged children;
Candidates that believe in the power of play and can work intentionally in the child's natural environment;
Candidates that work well in a multidisciplinary team but are able to work independently as well;
Candidates that can manage their time and caseload efficiently, but are flexible when changes are required;
Candidates that are competent using a computer as KDS is completely paperless;
A Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent;
Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT);
Proof of professional liability insurance;
A current Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector check;
At least two years working as an Occupational Therapist in a Pediatric environment;
A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle;
A willingness to travel between locations.
